Welcome to Neurodiversity Services

As a dedicated psychologist and neurodiversity specialist, I help individuals and organizations understand and support neurodivergent needs, turning insights into impactful, lasting change.

About Me

With over two decades of experience, I specialize in neurodiversity, blending psychological expertise with personal insights as an AuDHD practitioner. My journey spans education, organizational consultancy, and private practice, all driven by a passion for creating environments where neurodivergent individuals can thrive.

I am committed to bridging the gap between understanding and action, ensuring that neurodiversity support is both meaningful and practical. My work is grounded in evidence-based practices, aiming to empower individuals and transform organizational cultures.

My Approach to Neurodiversity

Creating Sustainable Environments

I believe neurodiversity is a natural part of human variation. Different brains have different strengths, preferences and needs, and normally the difficulty isn’t with the person, but with the mismatch between their brain-type and the environment around them.

When you buy a plant, you look at the label. You find out how much light it needs, how often it needs watering and what conditions will help it thrive. You don’t ask the plant to become a different plant. You ask, “What does this plant need?”

I think we can take the same approach to neurodiversity.

Understanding your neurotype can help you recognise the conditions you need to function well — from sensory environment and social expectations to communication, boundaries, energy patterns and recovery time.

When you understand that, you can learn to become more confident in advocating for what you need so you can truly thrive.

My work is about helping people and organisations move from “How can we make this person fit?” to “What would enable this person to flourish?”

For individuals, that might mean understanding your sensory needs, reducing the energy spent masking, developing boundaries and discovering how to work with your natural patterns of energy and attention.

In workplaces or schools, it means looking at the environment as a whole — the physical and sensory environment, social expectations, communication, meetings/lessons, workload and ways of working/learning — and finding practical changes that make achievement more sustainable for all.

I don’t see adjustments as about giving someone an advantage or lowering expectations. They are about creating the conditions in which people can use their abilities effectively without spending unnecessary energy adapting to an environment that doesn’t work for them.

My approach focuses on finding solutions that work in real life — because support only makes a difference when it is sustainable.

Where this work is going

Expanding access to neurodiversity coaching

I’m developing small-group coaching programmes that combine psychologically informed, neuro-affirming support with the opportunity to connect with others who understand the experience of being neurodivergent.  Many clients report feeling relief at being able to feel they are not alone in their experiences.

Building partnerships

I’m continuing to develop partnerships with organisations and schools to bring practical, psychologically informed neurodiversity support to more workplaces and learning environments. Most recently, I represented The Owl Centre delivering neurodiversity training to managers at Airbus and I am working with the Wales Autism Research Centre at Cardiff university on an exciting project.

Research

I’m developing a doctoral research proposal exploring neurodiversity and the environments in which people thrive. I’m particularly interested in developing practical tools to help make school environments more accessible for neurodivergent pupils.  I am also excited to be contributing to work with the Wales Autism Research Centre.
